I have a dream...

Namaste bloggers,
This month is speeches in Rimu...
When I heard we were going to do speeches, I was excited, but then I was worried but I didn't know of any topics to do.

In rimu before we started to do planning/practicing the speeches, we got to do an activity (which is the will be the DLO below)
The activity is to do a picture of ourselves in a google drawing and then go into our mental toughness slide, in that slide there was lots of headings ( 5 mental toughness toolkits) , and then the picture that we made went into the middle, then we put the 5 mental toughness tool kit headings and went words that we thought went with it and things we want to achieve.
The DLO is called I have a dream because of the speech that Martin Luther presented in 1963.
The 5 mental toughness toolkits are
Positive thinking
Attention control
Self Awareness
Goal setting
Anxiety control
Here is the DLO:
In this DLO I was thinking about my performance last year and how I can take it to the next step up and be better and stronger than last year.
The hardest thing for me in speeches are being confident and talking loud and clear plus choosing a good entertaining topic, I normally go fast and quiet, but this year I will try and give it my all as its my last year.
The easiest is probably writing it, although it can get hard sometimes writing, it depends on the topic, because if you do like a very big topic its hard to some of it down.

Have you ever wrote/present a speech? If so how did it go?
Do you have any tips?
What do think the easiest and hardest thing is when writing/presenting a speech?

If you are writing a comment on here, here is a helpful sentence starters
Positive - I loved this because.....
Thoughtful - This reminded me of when.....
Helpful - Maybe you could....

Until next time...

A voice recording on a comment!?!?!?!??!

Namaste Bloggers,

Last Tuesday we moved onto the next lesson in the Uru Manuka sessions,
This was about commenting on others blogs...

My group the Confident one, we did learning how to put a URL on a comment.... The link takes you to a video or voice recording...

So in this blog post I will be showing you how to do that...
This week lesson was working individually and not in a group this time.

This took a few times for me to do, the first time it didn't work so well, and the second time it worked out perfectly and anyone can click the link and go and listen to my voice recording.....

We also could do a video but I will be explaining today how to do the voice recording one instead of the screencastify.

Here is my DLO:
Thanks for watching!

Will you put a voice recording on this blog post?
Did you learn something new?
Did you like it?

Until next time,

PLEASE VOTE!!! For our writing competition!!!!!!

Nastame Bloggers,
Do enjoy reading?
DO you like Mysteries?
Poems?
Even new reports?
If you said yes you are in luck, keep reading to find out
Today I will be explaining the competition that's been going on Rimu,
On our sign in one day, we had to put in a grid what do you think of when you hear the word 'Brain' none of them could be the same as others (Some people did though)
Then we had to write a Mystery, New report or poem,
You had to use as many words of that grid as possible, and the limit of words were 150 and there was 28 words.
Soo... I am asking you, yes you to please vote on whos you think is the best, you have to pick one out of 3, so one from Poems you think was the best, one from Mysteries was the best and one from new reports
The voting ends on week 5 Friday 21st August @ 3 PM

Do you know how to have Resilience?

What is RESILIENCE?

Namaste bloggers,
Today I will be showing you what resilience is,
The lesson we had on resilience was very easy to understand and remember, our teacher got a pen and snapped it in half, then got the spring stretched it out, it went back to sort of the original shape but not all the way.

Here is a DLO on what resilience is:

Thanks for watching/reading,
Here is the link to the video.
I chose this video because it was about bouncing back I personally think that bouncing back is having resilience, I like the quote too because it shows how resilience is and how it can be in lots of differents ways.
I hope you enjoyed this and I hope you learnt something new about resilience.
Did you learn something new about resilience?
How would you explain resilience?
What's a way YOU could have resilience?
Until next time.....
Goodbye.

Does it have a question?

Kia Ora,
For the last 2 Tuesdays we have been learning about how to make quality blog comments,
We went to the Uru Manuka Website and clicked on lesson one, there is different activities for different people. I am in the confident one and there are two others on the site.
I am in a group with Mia & Abby...

We learnt about: Learning, Impact, Editing, Layout and then rewriting comments that don't have all the Positive, Thoughtful and Helpful and improving it.
We also have a checklist, you check off in the box next to the activity, the activtes are the ones in the slides that we have to do.
We watched lots of videos that relate to the activity.

Here is some of the comments we improved as a group:
This was one of four comments that we made,
The reflection: I think this activity was super fun to do and learn more about more to improve the comments, adding more information into them as well as the positive, thoughtful and helpful, it was a good because we got to refresh our minds on the comments and remember some of the things we might have forgotten, I liked improving the comments because it fun to see the differences in our improved comments to the original.

Did you like our improved comment?
Until next time.....
Bye
